A quick trip up the Kuranda Range from Cairns and you’re experiencing a whole new world!
The relaxing and calming Atherton Tablelands provides a perfect foil for the beauty of the Cairns and Port Douglas coastline. Take some time out to stretch your legs with our invigorating treks, breathe amongst the trees, and see a little of what this fabulous region has to offer.
Morning transfer from Cairns to Atherton in a private bus with your fellow trekkers. We will travel directly to the start of our first trek, where we will check gear and ensure we all have water. This is not a long or difficult trek, however it does have some steep sections so you will need to have a good level of fitness. We trek through a variety of terrains, with a small exposed section undertaken early in the day before the heat. Our climbs along this well maintained track are rewarded with beautiful views of the Atherton Tablelands, and, hopefully, some good bird sightings. We will then travel to our accommodation and enjoy dinner with the group, at which time we will discuss the next day’s departure and hold our safety briefing.
Private transfer in a 4WD to start of the trek at Herberton. We will be walking along old logging roads, through beautiful forests with a variety of flora. Enroute we will take a relaxed pace, stopping to enjoy our packed lunch. Today is lengthy, however the terrain is not difficult and we will enjoy being in nature without the distraction of day to day life. On completion we will enjoy a beautiful Devonshire tea before travelling back to your accommodation in Cairns or Port Douglas.
