We strongly recommend that you consult your General Practitioner or Travel Doctor to obtain the most up to date vaccinations and inoculations against the illnesses / diseases known to be in the geographical area of your destination prior to leaving Australia.
Any personal medication that is important for your health should be duplicated for the expedition. One lot is to be carried by yourself and the other (labelled with your name on it) is to be given to your group leader in case of accidental loss.
While in transit from Australia, you should carry your medication and prescriptions with your carry on luggage.
GT requires that you undertake a medical consultation to obtain medical clearance no more than 30 days prior to trip departure. A letter will be provided for you to take to your medical practitioner.
We also recommend that you consult your medical practitioner prior to engaging in any training / exercise program. You should inform your doctor that the expedition will take part in isolated mountainous terrain where prolonged cardiovascular muscular and skeletal stress is likely to be encounter.
GT reserves the right to evacuate you from the Trek if the appointed leader believes that continuing the trek represents a significant risk to your health.
